Sister Rosemary Laliberte, (formerly Sister Maria Joseph), 78, a Sister of Mercy for 60 years, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Roland and Mary Charlotte (Gorman) Laliberte. Sister Rosemary is survived by a sister, Roberta Moss; a brother, James Laliberte and his wife, Gina; her cousin Sister Marlene Laliberte, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Sister Rosemary's religious motto was "To love in deed and truth." During her years of ministry, she lived this motto wherever she served. Whether in leadership, in parish and outreach work, or in teaching, she always communicated caring love and went the extra mile. Sister always referred to her time in the Central American missions as life-changing and it made her more compassionate to the poor and neglected.
Sister Rosemary will be remembered and missed for her love of life, the ways she affected people she met, and her ability to laugh and bring humor to any situation. (Who can forget her rendition of "Prinderella and the Cince"!) May God welcome her with a laugh.
